Benzima and Isco secured maximum points for Zidane’s men, Neymar reaches a milestone as Barca thrashed Granada
Real Madrid saw off CD Alaves to extend their lead at the top of La Liga with a 3-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.
Karim Benzema opened the scoring after 31st minutes with a powerful left-footed strike into the top left-hand corner.
Alaves only trailed by a single goal with five minutes to go, yet Isco’s fine effort followed by Nacho’s late header secured maximum points for Zinedine Zidane and his men.
Meanwhile, Barcelona trashed 10-man Granada 4-1 away at Los Carmenes to keep pressure on La Liga leaders Real Madrid.
Luis Suarez opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time before Granada substitute Jeremie Boga equalised in the 50th minute, but Barca regained the lead and went on to see off the hosts comfortably with Paco Alcacer, Ivan Rakitic and Neymar joining the goals party.
Only two points separate Real Madrid and Barcelona at the top of La Liga with 10-games to play.
