TUT Soccer Coach Was Stabbed Over Weekend

A Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) football coach was assaulted, allegedly by the opposition team and its supporters after a match in Capital Park over the weekend.

Bushy Moloi had to be rushed to the hospital, after he was stabbed four times. TUT playing against Barcelona in the SAB League.

TUT sport organiser Kea Kgomo said the coach got attacked after the game ended up with a goal-less draw.The home fans and Barcelona players invaded the field and started pushing and assaulting the coach, he was stabbed several times in the upper body,” said Kgomo.

Kgomo further stated that they are shocked after witnessing that kind of behaviour and violence that should not be allowed in sport or anywhere.

TUT spokesperson Willa de Ruyter said the University was shocked by the assault on the coach and condemned the acts of violence.

Moloi was discharged from hospital on Sunday.
