Speaker Baleka Mbete and President Jacob Zuma have filed papers in the Constitutional Court responding to an application from the United Democratic Movement on the motion of no confidence.
The motion which was set for next Wednesday was then postponed after the Constitutional Court granted the UDM the permission to have a secret ballot vote on Tuesday.
The DA leader and other opposition parties’ leaders, EFF and UDM tabled the motion of no confidence against President Zuma.
Parliamentary spokesperson Moloto Mothapo has confirmed that the motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma has been postponed.
In the papers, Mbeke indicates that she is personally not adverse to a motion of no confidence using secret ballot voting.
“I have no authority to accede to the request,” she said.
