The 10th year edition of the Nedbank Cup final – one of South Africa’s prime events – will be played at the majestic Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL), together with sponsors, Nedbank confirmed the majestic 2010 World Cup venue, the Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban will host this year’s special edition of the 2017 Nedbank Cup Final on the 24th of June.
Meanwhile, Nedbank semi-final draw is set to take place tonight, where Orlando Pirates, Supersport United, Chippa United and Golden Arrows will know who they will face in an usual Nedbank cup fixture.
Earlier on it was announced that the tournament’s semi-final will be played on the same day.
PSL acting Chief Executive, Mato Madlala said: “The PSL and Nedbank want to make the 2017 edition of the Nedbank Cup final special – after all, we are celebrating 10 years of a wonderful partnership.
“The Moses Mabhida Stadium is one of the country’s most iconic venues and we have hosted some historic finals there,” said Madlala.
“From today, we will intensify planning to ensure we deliver a spectacular world class event. Good luck to the four clubs that have qualified for the semi-finals,” added Madlala.
Chippa United will host SuperSport United as Golden Arrows will welcome Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals set for May.
The last four fixtures were drawn on Monday evening at the SuperSport TV studios in Randburg, Johannesburg.
The winner between the Chilli Boys and Matsatsantsa will be the home team in the final, and will face the winner between Abafana Bes’thende and the Buccaneers.
The PSL will communicate ticketing information in due course.
