Shabba’s Brace Goes To Waste

In his 300th ABSA Premiership appearance, Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana’s golden boy, Simphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala, scored a remarkable brace against SuperSport United.

Shabba’s first goal was superb on the 14th minute after he chipped Pieterse who was way off his line. This is a similar goal that Shabba scored in his last game.

Even though SuperSport’s Mandla Masango equalised on the 30th minute, it did not deter Shabba who found the back of the net on the 35th minute after a brilliant pass from Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

However, a lot of Kaizer Chiefs fans lost it when Shabba was replaced by Gustavo Paez on the 58th minute. It appeared that most of them were unaware that Shabba had sustained an injury, thus leaving Coach Steve Komphela with no choice but to make a forced substitution.

A game that had the potential to be remembered as one of Kaizer Chiefs’ best performances, was ruined by a last-minute equaliser by Aubrey Modiba, resulting in both teams sharing a point.

Kaizer Chiefs are fourth on the log, while SuperSport is right behind them.

  • @sk_samie – Wrong move Steve, Shabba was on some roll there. Why substitute him?
  • @Mokoena_TK – Shabba scoring Europe Goals
  • @karabomogaletoo – And why is Shabba not man of the match? Ok I’m done.
