Fulufhelo Shamain Ratheko (21), is a singer and actress who is ready to take the entertainment industry by storm.

She is from Namakgale, Phalaborwa, Limpopo where she was raised together with her two siblings by her single mother.

“I started singing in Primary School, as early as grade 3 in the school choir. Singing there was always amazing. I did my very first solo when I was in grade 5 at a school concert, after that my love for singing grew even bigger. From then I started singing in church and the rest is history,” she explained.

She studies performing arts at Puo- Media, one of the schools at the State Theatre. Coming to Pretoria the only thing she was interested in was music but now after Puo-Media she is falling in love with theatre,

She has done plays like The Sepulchre by Godfrey Thobejani and Freedom the Musical by Aubrey Sekhabi as a singer. She also has an interest in modeling and hopes to pursue that as well.

“Currently I am part of the State Theatre Youth Choir, I am a backing Vocalist for Calvin Gigaba for his upcoming concert ‘songs from lesson’ which will take place on the 22nd July 2017,” she added.

She is of the feeling that the arts are under rated, more especially in rural areas. People make wrong decisions because they don’t have knowledge, for example she never knew she could study theatre until she came to Pretoria.

She is currently studying Education at UNISA and she would love to graduate and inspire young children to follow their dream.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the reality of their dreams. I would also like to write and direct a theatrical piece about my experiences in life in the near future. I am a dynamite, preparing for my explosion,” she concluded.
