ANC Member of Parliament, Dr Makhosi Khoza, said she will not follow the ruling party’s directives, if they are in variance with the party’s constitution and that of the country.
Khoza addressed the civil society conference into state capture which, organised by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and Save South Africa.
Around hundred organizations gathered on Tuesday, in Randburg, Johannesburg, to craft a way forward to fight state capture and push for President Jacob Zuma’s removal.
On August 8, parliament is set to hold a vote of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma and Khoza has indicated that she will vote against him if she is present.
Khoza slammed Zuma as a dishonorable man who is haunting the nation and fermenting sentiments of racism and tribalism.
Khoza said Zuma has violated the country’s Constitution and that he should step down and allow the country to move forward.
Her address was received with applause by delegates who attended the conference.
