Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has appealed to disgruntled ANC members, to help restore the party.
Ramaphosa was in Welkom, in the Free-State, at the Elijah Barayi Memorial Lecture, on Sunday, where he called for unity in the party.
The ruling party has experience a number of factional battles, with its biggest alliance, the South African Communist Party (SACP), threatening to contest the 2019 national elections, independently.
Ramaphosa urged members not to leave the party, but rather indulge in meaningful discussions about issues they have.
He also added that party members need to help leaders to frankly discuss the source of problems to come up with solutions.
