Two men who allegedly forced Victor Mlotshwa into a coffin and threatened to pour petrol over him have pleaded not guilty.

They appeared at the Delmas High Court in Mpumalanga on Monday.

Video footage of the incident went viral late last year.

The accused – Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen – told the court they wanted to teach Mlotshwa a lesson and didn’t mean him any harm.

The two face charges of kidnapping, assault, attempted murder and possession of an illegal firearm.

They were granted bail earlier this month.
