The Democratic Alliance has filed an answering affidavit relating to the dismissal of Mongameli Bobani as Nelson Mandela Bay Deputy Mayor.
Bobani was removed in a motion of no confidence.
His party, the United Democratic Movement (UDM), has brought a court application to set aside his removal.
The UDM said the vote of no confidence was held while not all opposition parties were present.
Bobani and the municipality’s mayor, Athol Trollip have been involved in a long-running dispute, while their two parties attempted to govern the metro in a coalition.
The DA’s accused Bobani of corruption and maladministration, among many other serious allegations.
