Real Betis thrashed Levante 4-0 on Monday night to move up to fifth place in Spain’s La Liga.
After a goalless first half, Antonio Sanabria opened the scoring just a few minutes into the second period. In the 55th minute, Fabian Ruiz then doubled Betis’ lead.
Sergio Leon scored the home side’s third goal 10 minutes later before Sanabria got his second of the game and Betis’ fourth in injury time.
“We are very content,” said Ruiz after the match. “We are taking it game by game but the dream of finishing in the European places is a nice one.”
Betis beat Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last week and Monday’s win lifts them one place above last season’s champions after six games played.
It was Betis’ third straight win at home and it leaves them higher on the table than they have been for over two years.
