Not everyone is born with the talent of changing a person from bad to good just right after saying a simple word. Fezeka Msane, who is well known as Zeeka on Rise FM, a community radio in Mtubatuba, KwaZulu Natal is one of the new presenters who gives listeners hope just with what comes on her mouth.

The 24-year-old is a lady with hopes and dreams who strongly believes hard work breeds success. Zeeka was born at Esikhawini in KwaZulu-Natal where she spent her few years of her life and later moved to Mtubatuba in KwaMsane Reserve, and recently she stays in Nordale.

Zeeka attended school at Mfolozi Primary and went to a handful of high schools which includes Mtubatuba high school, John Ross high school and she matriculated in Nomathiya Technical high school. Currently Zeeka is a pursuing her journalism diploma at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). Zeeka said that the reason why she chose radio as a career is because as she grew up radio was the big part of her life.

“I was always fascinated about how other radio presenters could speak in a piece of mental as I grew up, so I did my curiosity. I remember going to the Library and I did my research. I decided that I also want to be part of those who give hope to others, from that day I grew the love for radio,” said Zeeka.

Zeeka was asked what it means to be a radio personality. “It means interacting with millions and painting a picture for them using words. It means being an educator, entertainer and one’s personal informant. You have to be able to multi-task because you need to treat your listeners the same,” she said.

Zeeka said her biggest achievement so far is being recognised as the best new presenter in Rise FM.” This really shows that I am going somewhere in life, people loves the motivation I give them and I am so grateful that each day my listeners are growing on my show,” said Zeeka.

Zeeka said that since she has noticed how good she is when it comes to broadcast, her future plans is to own a school of broadcast.

“My future plans besides being the next radio mogul, I do want to have my own school of broadcast where I can help groom people who share the same love and passionate for radio as I do, being a broadcasting lecturer. Let’s just say I love the media industry because there is so much to do, I also do want to be an actress too which I believe is something that will happen eventually,” explained Zeeka.

In the next two years, I plan to work for a commercial radio station. I know that this won’t even take that long because I serve a living God and I also work hard when I want something,” said Zeeka.
