Ladysmith Black Mambazo Set To Pursuit 5th Grammy Awards

The South African male isicathamiya group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has been nominated for 2018 Grammy Awards.

The group from eMnambithi (Ladysmith) is up for two Grammy’s for two different albums. The mbube group have been nominated in the Best World Music Album category for their album Shaka Zulu Revisited  30th Anniversary Celebration, as well as in the Best Children’s Album category for Songs of Peace & Love for Kids & Parents around the World.

The cothoza mfana group won their first Grammy award back in 1998 in the best Traditional folk recording category for Shaka Zulu.

Early next year Mambazo will be targeting to accumulate their fifth Grammy award as they have already seized four Grammy awards in their history since 1988,2004,2009 and 2013,  they have been nominated 17 consecutive times and this year will be for the 18 time.

The Grammy’s are scheduled for 28 January 2018.
