FA Cup title holders Arsenal were knocked out of the competition by Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The gunners had never previously lost an FA Cup third-round tie in 21 years. That came to an end after the Championship side Nottingham Forest wounded Arsenal in a six goal thriller as Nottingham crowned 4-2 on Sunday.

Meanwhile Tottenham easily beat AFC Wimbledon 3-0 to advance to the next round, thanks to Harry Kane scoring twice before Jan Vertonghen sealed their win, while West Ham United were forced to a replay following their stalemate at League One Shrewsbury Town.

Elsewhere in Etihad Stadium Manchester City went a goal down at home to Burnley, but came strong to win 4-1 with a quick fire Sergio Aguero double putting them on their way.

Last year runners up Chelsea met with Championship side Norwich, where both clubs played a stalemate goalless draw forcing both teams to earn an FA Cup third round reply at Stamford Bridge, 15 January.
