Zimbabwean international and Lamontville Golden Arrows winger Kudakwashe Mahachi has confirmed that he will join the Sea Robbers next season from Absa Premiership rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mahachi was loaned by Sundowns to Arrows since the 2015/16 season and the 24 year old has played for Abafana bes”thende for two seasons in the PSL campaign.
Media reports had speculated that Mahachi could move to Gauteng during the January transfer window, but he insists he’ll remain with Arrows until the end of the campaign before joining Buccaneers.
It’s true that I’m leaving (Arrows) for Pirates at the end of the season,” he told Isolezwe.
“It doesn’t matter now whether or not I still wanted to stay at Arrows because this was discussed at a higher level.
“The two teams discussed everything, and I was only told what will happen. Pirates bought me (from Mamelodi Sundowns). I will leave (Arrows) at the end of the current season.”
Mahachi had worked previously with Rhulani Mokwena while he was still at Sundowns, he added that his good relationship with Rhulani will help him to showcase his talent at sea robbers.
“My situation is different because it’s Rhulani Mokwena who wanted me,” he said.
“I know that because even at Sundowns, he was always fighting for me to be given the opportunity.” He concluded.
