Cape Town City are rumoured to be the next club where Steven Pienaar will resurface after the 35 year old decorated player was spotted in Cape Town this week, fuelling speculation that he could be in talks with the club.
The player who had a lengthy career in Europe recently parted ways with Bidvest Wits after just spending less than six months at the Braamfontein outfit. Cape Town City boss hinted at waiting for a new signing to arrive and suggestions are going by that it is Pienaar, but John Comitis decided against giving out too much information.
“We definitely have one more that we have signed and we are very quiet about it. We are expecting an arrival in the next 48 hours and an outside possibility of one other and that would be something that we can only disclose at the time, but if I get it right, there will be two more,” explained Comitis.
Judging by the statements from the Chairman, a possibility of seeing the former Sunderland, Everton, Tottenham Hotspurs, Borrussia Dortmund and Ajax Cape Town player is not out of the cards and only time will tell.
