SuperSport United returns from KwaZulu-Natal and they will hope for a comfortable zone to bring a turning fortune. Mastastansta will play host Pokwane City,Tuesday evening at Lucas Moripe Stadium in an ABSA Premiership clash, kick 19:30pm.
United have been camped out in KZN for over a week, having played both Durban clubs either side of their match with Maritzburg United. Eric Tinkler’s men stretched their winless run in the league to eight games with their lost 1-0 to Golden Arrows but a long waited victory came three days later, Abury Modiba scoring the only goal at Hurry Gwala Stadium.
They would hope to kick off with win against AmaZulu but United was stunned on weekend losing 2-0 at King Zwelithini Stadium. Other game were they failed to score and was just four goals in their last 10 league matches, it’s clear with Tinkler, he must out all his focus.
The side from the Capital continue their search for a Sharp shooter having sold top scorer Jeremy Brockie but they will have to rely on the likes of Modiba who missed the penalty against Usuthu and Thuso Phala to find the back of the net.
Having made up the majority of the games in hand, Mastastansta are 11th on the standings, with 20 points from 16 games, just one point among the place below them, is Polokwane City, whom they will clash against.
The Rise and Shine have had a great start in 2018, surprising log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns 3-2 in the first outing of the New Year. The game against Kaizer Chiefs they took a lead but went on to lose 2-1. It was a similar story against Orlando Pirates at the weekend, City took the lead 18 minute, thanks to Dominic Chungwa, but they have to settle for a point after Pirates substitute, Foster equalised four minutes from the whistle.
