SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler has revealed that he is in search for a striker to bolster his squad with not more than 48 hours left before the transfer window closes.

Matsatsantsa lost their top striker Jeremy Brockie to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the current transfer window and can only rely on one experienced striker in Kingston Nkhatha as Bradley Grobler is still out with an injury. James Keene has been linked with a move to the Pretoria club but Tinkler has refrained from giving out a name of a player he wants to sign.

“We are thin at the moment. We are very thin. Obviously, a striker is a priority right now we have Kingston Nkhatha and a young boy Darren Smith who are fit and that’s too much pressure to put onto the young man to be honest,” explained Tinkler

“We are fairly close to signing a new player but I don’t want to mention names yet because like I said that process is still in negotiations and I don’t want things to be changing last minute and look like an idiot because I told you this one is coming in and it doesn’t happen,” further said Tinkler.

SuperSport have already secured the signature of Mogakolodi Ngele from Mamelodi Sundowns as part of the Brockie deal between the two teams. However, time will tell as to which striker Tinkler will lure to his team.
