Cape Town City FC kicks off the next ABSA Premiership round in a game against run away PSL log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday night. City will look to close the one point gap when they tackle the team from the capital. Meanwhile inform title contenders, Sundowns will travel to the Mother City looking to gain their winning momentum after their goal-less draw against Kaizer Chief this past weekend. They hope to take their lead to 38 points with only 10 games remaining in the season.
On Saturday afternoon, struggling SuperSport United will play hosts 9th place Bloemfontien Celtic at Lucas Moripe Stadium. United are currently in 14th place as relegation looms while Mastastansta face the same fate, and need at least three points to stay in the competition. All roads lead to Braamfontien, as Kaizer Chiefs take a short road trip to Bidvest Wits Stadium to play against the PSL defending Champions, Bidvest Wits. Chiefs are looking to bounce back with a win following their draw against Sundowns last week. The team anticipates a challenging game against the defending champions who also have a home ground advantange.
