A hearty meal is never complete without having dessert to look forward to as the cherry on top after a nice dinner date to end of a romantic night out. So make sure you go all out, even though love should be celebrated on a daily basis. To all those who have a sweet tooth do not miss out on having this amazing delicacy that will have your taste buds dancing.
Preparation time is approximately 20 minutes plus 1 hour refrigeration, cooking time; 5 minutes.
100 g honeycomb- finely chopped
42 g icing sugar
10 g fondant
150 g butter – cubed
75 g salted peanuts
125 g shortbread biscuits- finely chopped
35 g mini marshmallows
36 g heart sprinkles – optional
250 g dark chocolate – finely chopped
Add butter, chocolate and icing sugar in large glass bowl and melt it over a pot of warm water over low heat until melted and smooth.
Remove the mixture from the heat, allow it to cool for 5 minutes and gradually stir in the biscuits, honeycomb, peanuts and marshmallows.
Scatter the heart sprinkles in 10 x 60 ml silicone heart moulds and allow it to set in the fridge for at least 1 hour until firm. Turn the hearts out and decorate each with a fondant heart.
Serve as a treat turn it into a dessert by serving it with whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
For boozy adult version, stir in 30ml
2 tablespoon of strawberry or cherry liqueur with melted chocolate
