CAPE TOWN: African National Congress (ANC) Treasurer-General Paul Mashatile addressed the media in Parliament following the outcome of the ANC Parliamentary Caucus meeting which took place on Wednesday.
Mashatile said as the ANC, they have taken the decision to call for a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma on Thursday. “We can no longer keep SA waiting, the decision must be implemented and we must proceed with the Parliamentary process.”
The motion which was first called by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) that was set for later this month. However, the ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu, “we have engage the EFF as they have brought before Parliament. They have rejected our request.” According to Floyd Shivambu, the EFF will not handover the motion to the ANC.
The EFF Motion of No Confidence stands despite the postponement of our court application. We still demand that it must be brought forward and that is what we are talking about with the ANC caucus. The EFF will not handover the motion to the ANC.

Meanwhile, Mthembu said they amend the motion during the sitting. He said that the matter around Zuma have attended speedly.
“The sooner all these matters are attended to,the better so that we can do the budget. We would like the incoming president to put forward to the nation what the programme of the ANC will be for this year,” he added.
