Grant Mokeona’s careers best helped the VKB Knights to win their Sunfoil series match by 304/7 against the log-leading Multiply Titans at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Thursday.
The right hander made an overwhelming unbeaten 143, 15 Four, 1 six in 285 balls. This was Mokeona’s seventh century of his career after his last best of 108 against the Warriors earlier this season.
Luthando Mnyanda made a blazing start by scoring a successive 31 but was then caught by Moonsamy off the swing bowler Richards to reduce the hosts to 45/1.
Titans made sure they were not at the too far end as Rowan Richards removed the skipper, Rudi Second, just shortly after tea for three and shortly after the swing bowler also had Patrick Kruger caught behind for 21 as the hosts fell to 222/5.
Titan’s bowlers Rowan Richards (3/53) and Shaun von Berg (3/74) were the best but couldn’t break the defences of Mokoena as the Knights ensured they were just ahead.
