India continue with their winning ways as they beat South African (Proteas) by 28 runs at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium sunday in the KFC T20 International.
After loosing 5-1 in the ODI series Proteas looked for a victory in their first T20 three-matches which did not happen as India were in it to win it as they got a chance to bat first and Shikhar Dhawan made (72 off 39 balls, 10 fours and 2 sixes) with good support from the rest of the order. All India batsman reached double figures leaving Proteas to chase a score of 204/5.
Junior Dala made a rather interesting debut as he was able to get the Proteas two important wickets but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for the Proteas as when it was time for them to bet wickets were falling faster then lightning.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar made an interesting start in the T2o International as he claimed his first five-wicket haul to round off India’s victory.
Kumar over took most of the wicket as he was able to get Hendrick when he had just made 70 of 50 deliveries, Klaasen (13) and Chris Morris (0) fell in successive deliveries to hand Kumar his five-wicket haul.
JP Duminy went out very early with just 3 runs in 5 balls. things did not look very good for the Proteas as the chances of winning the mach was getting slimmer by balls.
175/9 was all the hosts could do in the end, 28 runs short of the total, to hand India their seventh victory over the South Africans in 11 T20 matches.
This match was a centenary of the first black South African President Nelson Mandela.
