Yesterday angry parents and learners along with the National Association of School Governing Bodies (NASGB), National Education Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU), South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) and Congress Of South African Students (COSAS) gathered at the Gauteng Department of Education’s Johannesburg Central District in Pimville to hand in a memorandum.
The memorandum that was handed on, outlines the issues of various schools within the province that experience such as school infrastructure and sexual harassment.
Angry protesters were not gained access to the Department of Education’s premises as they were advised leave the memorandum at the gate.
However the regional chairperson of NASGB Baleseng Mokgwatleng has revealed that, they have been presenting the current issues that are being faced by the schools within the province and none of them has never been addressed.
The unions has later made the conclusion to meet on Thursday and discuss the matter on how it will be resolved and will later give updates on what needs to be done.
