DURBAN: AmaZulu head coach Calvin John says he feels a visit from log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns does not make any difference as they plan to beat every team that comes to the King Zwelithini Stadium.

The Brazilians will travel to the Zulu land to take on AmaZulu who beat them 2-1 in the first round, with Mabhuthi Khenyeza and Siyabonga Nomvete getting the goals at Loftus Versveld Stadium. Johnson who is fighting to keep Usuthu away from the relegation zone and possibly push for a top 8 finish says he will be cautious but will send everything out to beat Pitso Mosimane’s team.

“We want to make King Zwelithini Stadium a fortress and we are still building. It will be no different against Sundowns. We have to be mindful of Sundowns because they are a quality team.

“They are the best team in Africa at the moment. They are number one in the league and for those reasons we need to give them respect but at the same time, we want to come out on Friday night and play the best we can,” said Johnson

“Sundowns is a quality team and that’s why we have to come with our A-game and make sure that we keep applying pressure for the full 90 minutes. We have to stick to our game plan if we want to beat them,” he further said.

A win for AmaZulu can push them within the top 8 depending on how other results go and on the other hand, a win for Sundowns can push them even further within reach of clinching the league title, hoping a draw manifests at the Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
