Why You Should Eat Dark Chocolate This Easter

If you do not have a sweet tooth you might as well resort to eating dark chocolate, it has a whole lot of health benefits. That your body requires to functioning optimally.  

Dark chocolate is loaded with nutrients that can positively affect your health, made from the seed of cocoa tree; it is one of the best sources of antioxidants on the plant. Studies show that dark chocolate (not the sweet sugary ones), when eaten in moderation can improve health and lower the risk of heart disease.

It is nutritious and loaded with minerals including iron, magnesium, copper and manganese.  It also has plenty of potassium, phosphorus, zinc and selenium. Dark chocolate is a powerful source of antioxidants. One study showed that cocoa and dark chocolate contained more antioxidant activity, polyphenols and flavanols than other fruits they have tested.

Improves blood flow and lowers the risk of blood pressure, it also raises HDL and protects LDL cholesterol against oxidation. The flavanols can protect against sun induced damage, improve brain function, blood flow to the skin, increase skin density and hydration.

With all these benefits this certainly does not mean you should eat a mouthful of chocolate every day. Preferably it would be best to eat small portions of it in moderation. You can also incorporate dark chocolate in your desert instead of adding the sugary chocolate.
