JOHANNESBURG: National Chairperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Advocate Dali Mpofu says the Democratic Alliance (DA) should engage with the regarding land expropriation, if they wish to address the matter.

This is amidst the party’s planned motion of no confidence in the Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Athol Trollip.

The EFF comes as a way of ‘punishing’ the DA’s refusal to support the former’s successful parliament motion of expropriation of land without compensation.

Speaking to a Johannesburg based talk radio, on POWER Perspective with JJ Tabane, Mpofu shed more light on why they are targeting Trollip.

“What we are saying there [at NMB] is that, apart from the fact that it’s a soft nerve because the DA is obsessed with whiteness, we are saying that he, unlike Solly [Msimanga] and the other chap [Herman Mashaba], who are like marshals, Trollip is also the national leader of the DA,” Mpofu said.

Mpofu also took a deep dig at the ANC on how they have been approaching matters of national importance.

“Even this issue of land expropriation, after losing the metros, they are now thinking, what if this happens again in 2019, so let’s go sing the EFF’s tune. That’s a stupid strategy by the way. It’s free education, which is good, the land, Zuma must go, the Gupta commission – all the things we gave to the ANC on 9 August 2016, they are now doing them,” he added.
