Saint Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! If you are not sure where to find the lucky leprechaun during this fun and exciting time of the year, then be sure to check out the list of events happening in and around the city. From Irish traditions and green beers to lucky ‘pots of gold’, there’s no reason for you to stay home on Saint Paddy’s 2018.


Saint Paddy’s Day Bush Pub Run

Surely drinking beer and running don’t go together – unless it’s at the annual Saint Paddy’s Day Bush Pub Run! This annual St Paddy’s Day event offers runners (and beer lovers) an 8km night trail run with four themed pubs en route. There will be plenty of prizes up for grabs for the best dressed runners, as well as great music and loads of food and drink available. There’s no better way to celebrate this great Irish tradition (even if you have to run!)

St Patrick’s Day Street Party

Molly Malones in Fourways has an awesome line-up for you this St Paddy’s Day! Their Friday night St Patrick’s Day Street Party will feature food stalls, ice-cold drafts and some of SA’s top DJs including Chrizz beats Miami J’s, Rocca & Martini, Vin Grooving, Rikay, Double Hustle, Bhavs, Ian Morrison, Iconic and Ryan L.

On Saturday night, guests can expect plenty entertainment from live bands, food stalls and of course, ice-cold draughts of beer all day long.

Green Beer For St Patrick’s Day

St Paddy’s is about all things green, so SAB World Of Beer will be hosting its annual beer tour where guests can explore the brewery and sip on a green Castle Draught in the Lion Bar. (Don’t worry, it’s just food colouring!) Not only will there be green beer, but there will also be hearty Irish dishes – St Paddy’s stout pie with dipping gravy and potato wedges; crispy pork belly with mashed cabbage potatoes and Irish Ale gravy; Irish Shepherd’s pie with Irish cabbage salad; St Patrick’s chocolate brownie trifle; or Apple berry crumble with Irish whisky cream. Yum! Join in the fun by wearing something green on the day – you know you want to!
