JOHANNESBURG: Rhulani who is assistant coach to Milutin Sredejovic at Orlando Pirates is a well-respected young coach with a promising future.
Rhulani Mokwena’s star keeps rising and has reached new heights following his inclusion in Bafana Bafana’s technical team for the upcoming Four Nations tournament to be played in Zambia by head coach Stuart Baxter.
Rhulani who is assistant coach to Milutin Sredejovic at Orlando Pirates is a well respected young coach with a promising future. He is also highly rated by Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane whom he worked with at Chloorkop, winning CAF Champions league and league honours together. Baxter believes the young coach’s work pedigree cam be instrumental for South Africa in the tournament.
“We are inviting Rhulani Mokwena, the young coach from Pirates, to be with us on this camp because we do want to make sure that young coaches also are empowered. So he will join us, and he will look at what we do, we will use his capacity and we hope that we can follow that theme for the new steps,” explained Baxter following his squad announcement.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on 18 March and be concluded by 27 March in Ndola, Zambia. Bafana’s first game will be against Angola on March 22. The tournament also consists of Zimbabwe and Zambia who are the host nation.
