The Democratic Alliance Youth (DAY) and DA Women’s Network (DAWN) in the Eastern Cape will hold their elective congresses in Komani, Queenstown on Saturday where office bearers for both structures will be elected.
“We are passionate about addressing issues affecting South African Women and the Youth, our structures are committed to bringing Total Change to all spheres of society,” said the DA in a statement.
According to the DA, the keynote address of the DAWN congress will be delivered by the Network’s Northern Cape Provincial Chairperson, Safiyia Stanfley.
“Celeste Barker, outgoing DAWN EC Provincial Chairperson, will also address the congress, the DAY congress will be addressed by the DA’s Eastern Cape Deputy Provincial Leader, Bobby Stevenson, said the DA.
Meanwhile the DA in KwaZulu Natal is also explected to hold its elective congress on the same day.
The DA said it aims to win more votes than the African National Congress(ANC) in KZN; “The DA has set its sight on bringing the ANC in KZN below 50% in 2019 and the party will unite and work together towards achieving this,” said the DA.
