Johannesburg-The South African National Assembly in Parliament lauded Ellis’ employment as the head coach of Banyana Banyana.
Desiree was appointed as Banyana Banyana head coach in February after serving the role in the past 19 months as an interim coach.
The Speaker of the National Assembly Baleka Mbete, sent a laudatory latter about Ellis new job.
“The Assembly further noted your contribution in calibrating Banyana Banyana, which saw you earning 32 caps during your tenure, cannot unnoticed” wrote Mbete.
Ellis is faced with hard tasks, firstly she has to prepare for 2018 Africa Womens Cup of Nation qualifiers, and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
“The Assembly wishes you well in your endeavour to qualify for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nation in Ghana, including the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.”
