Hendrick Ekstein is optimistic that Kaizer Chiefs will win the Nedbank Cup and end their three year drought for a major trophy.
On Saturday night Amakhosi beat Baroka FC 1-0 to reach the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup.
Ekstein, showed dazzling performance on the day, creating some beautiful touches, which made him to walk away with man of the match accolade.
The 27-year old believes they can go all the way and clinch the 2018 Nedbank Cup for the first time after three years under the leadership of Steve Komphela.
“I think we owe it to the fans. We have to do well for the team and our supporters. Ekstein told Supersport.
“It has been two seasons without winning anything so this one is our chance. Yes, we will go all the way to the final and we are going to win this cup.”
The midfielder also said he was happy to bag the Man of the Match award in the victory over Bakgaga, saying he is happy to have helped his team get closer to the final.
He added: “Yes, I will get better and I think I have two or three goals this season if not mistaken and I don’t have an assist, but I’m happy with the support I got from my team-mates, the legends of the team and the coach, who are helping me throughout.”
