Following the saddened death of the Mother of the Nation, Winnie Madikizela Mandela on Monday, various political parties have sent their condolences to the family expressing their sadness on the matter.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema will on Tuesday visit Mama Winnie Mandela’s home to pay respects on behalf of the Economic Emancipation Movement.
Winnie Mandela had suffered throughout the struggle, became harassed by the apartheid government but through all of that she managed to accomplish her goal which was primarily to fight to the freedom of the people and empower women.
The Democrtic Alliance (DA) said it will always remember Winnie Mandela as the mother of the nation; “Ma Winnie, you will always be remembered for your selfless and steadfast commitment to our democracy; may your spirit live on, and we thank you for your service.”
“She stands as a bright light that shone a way forward for many others. Even while she opposed the apartheid government, she stood for principle, and her values outlast the struggle and apply to this day,” said DA leader Mmusi Maimane.
