DURBAN: Johnson has expressed his satisfaction with the point after drawing 1-1 against Bloemfontein Celtics at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
AmaZulu fought back to salvage a point after Jacky Motshegwa had seemingly won the game for Siwelele after netting in the 82nd minute but Mhlengi Cele quickly put Calvin Johnson’s side back in it in the 86th minute.
“I am satisfied because we were playing against a good team in Celtic. I thought it was an open game as both teams were playing attacking football on the day. It is nice playing against a team that threatens you and you also are able to threaten them. My goalkeeper made some good saves that kept us in the game. They scored and we also managed to score.”
“We almost stole it towards the end of the game. But it was not to be on the day. However, I am happy to go home with a point because this league is very unpredictable. Whatever point you can take back home is always worth the money,” said Johnson on the club’s website.
The draw meant that AmaZulu are now in 11th position with 32 points, one point away from 8th position. Their next game is a tricky one as they host title chasing and red hot Orlando Pirates at the King Zwelithini Stadium next Sunday afternoon.
