Janneman Malan and Wihan Lubbe helped script a 34-run win over Gauteng at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.
The win sealed the deal for the North West side as they were then crowned the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Provincial One-Day Challenge champions.
Highly-rated opener Malan struck his fourth List A half-century when he hit seven fours and six in a 99-ball 69 as the visitors posted 179 all out after winning the toss and batting.
All-rounder Lubbe then bagged a career-best three for 21 to help bowl out the host for 145 and seal a famous first win.

“Congratulations to North West on their well-deserved achievement,” commented CSA Acting Chief Executive Thabang Moroe.
“They won seven of their 10 pool matches to qualify for the final and had the leading runs scorer overall in Janneman Malan who made 69 runs in the final to take his aggregate for the season to exactly 500 for an average of 55.55 with an excellent strike rate in excess of 87,’’ Mr Moroe Added.
“They also had the leading wicket-taker in Dyllan Matthews who finished the season with 21 dismissals,” concluded Mr. Moroe.
