DA Is Gunning For ANC’s Top Leader In The Western Cape

CAPE TOWN: The Democratic Alliance (DA) to lay charges against ANC’s Dugmore over Hermanus land invasion.

The DA says it will be laying charges against African National Congress (ANC) Member of Provincial Legislature, Cameron Dugmore for inciting violence and illegal occupation of private land, during the Hermanus attempted land grabs.

DA Constituency Head of Overstrand, Masizole Mnqasela, along with the Overstrand DA Caucus are expected to lay the charges on Friday.

Residents in Hermanus took it in their hands to initiate a mass march against land invasion last month which led to violence and resulted in some of the residents being arrested by police.

“Hermanus and its residents were left shocked after attempted land invasions resulted in violence, xenophobic attacks and vandalism,” said the DA.

The DA said it has challenged Dugmore to publicly declare the content of the alleged WhatsApp messages exchanged between him and ANC Western Cape Secretary Faiez Jacobs by no later than Thursday the 12th of April after the ANC publicly rejected our claims.

“This is a matter that the DA takes very seriously and has already referred Dugmore to the Western Cape Parliamentary Ethics Committee for investigation,” said the DA.
