JOHANNESBURG: Platinum Stars could find themselves playing in the NFD if they lose to AmaZulu in the next game.
Dikwena remain rooted at the bottom of the table following their latest outing which resulted in a 1-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. They still sit on 21 points after 27 games, which they have only won 4, drawn 9 and lost 14 times in the horror season they’ve had.
They are currently 7 points behind 15th placed Ajax Cape Town and 8 behind 14th placed SuperSport United. If the go own to Usuthu in their next game, then that would confirm their relegation, bearing in mind they will only have six points left to play for after that.
More so, for them to avoid automatic relegation and perhaps play the relegation play-offs, then that would mean that they would want to win all their remaining games and count on Ajax to lose all of their remaining three league fixtures against Baroka, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.
Stars’ fall from grace may just come after just 5 Seasons of tasting success where they won the Telkom Knockout and MTN8 whilst also maintaining top league finishes in that era.
