JOHANNESBURG: The 2019 Online application process for grade one and eight goes live on Monday, says the Gauteng Education Department.
Last year, the process gave problems to the applicants applying for schooling, leaving over 30, 000 pupil to start off their academic year end of February and some being allocated schools far from home.

With the departments poor planning that has caused pupil to start of late, the department says the system has improved and can take up to 35, 000 hits per second.
The department’s Steve Mabona says applications will close at the end of May.
“We have enhanced the system, we will be able to have 30 hits per second which means parents won’t have technical glitches,” he said.
Furthermore, the Department of Home Affairs has also been brought on board to help with registrations.
