JOHANNESBURG: Tributes have been pouring in for the late struggle stalwart Dr Zola Skeyiya with the United Democratic Movement (UDM)’s Bantu Holomisa saying he will remember Skweyiya as a deep thinker.
“Zola won’t be different from legacies of other stalwarts whose aim has been to improve the quality of life of many and who have been disappointed by the way things have turned out, especially around corruption.”
The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on State Funerals has on Tuesday announced that government will hold an Official Memorial Service in honour of the late political stalwart.
The memorial service will be held at the Tshwane Events Centre in Pretoria on Wednesday. Meanwhile the funeral service will take place on Saturday, 21 April 2018 at CRC Church, Corner Lynnwood Road and Solomon Mahlangu Drive, Pretoria.
Skweyiya passed away on the 11th of April 2018 and President Cyril Ramaphosa has since declared a special official funeral, Category 1 for Skweyiya.
