JOHANNESBURG: Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick “Pule” Ekstein says he would love nothing more than to win this season’s Nedbank Cup.
Amakhosi have endured an unsuccessful league campaign and know that the cup is their only chance of getting their first silverware under embattled Steve Komphela. Although they aim on winning the trophy, Ekstein believes it won’t be an easy affair to get past Ea lla Koto who have done well this season.
“It won’t be easy but we will work hard to progress to the final. It’s our aim to win the Nedbank Cup. They are a tough team to play against. We only beat them recently thanks to a late goal in the 94th minute. It promises to be a competitive match. But we will be ready,” Ekstein said.
“We enjoy playing in Durban. We usually get good support there. We want to make our supporters happy and grab this opportunity to reach a cup final with both hands. We will try our level best to win this trophy,” said Ekstein on the clubs website.
The semi-final between Chiefs and Stars will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night, kick off scheduled for 20h15.
