CAPE TOWN: Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertuğrul says he hopes his charges can handle the pressure against Baroka on Tuesday night.

The Urban Warriors have been locked in a relegation battle for some time now and currently sit on 15th position, a relegation playoff candidate position with 28 points and will only need a point to escape from that position temporarily before 14th placed SuperSport United play on Wednesday.

“At home we have a pretty good record, but it is a pressure situation. It comes down to how we react in extreme pressure. Can we be calm and do the things we have worked on, or is that only 50 percent because the pressure kicks in? We all know that when pressure comes in we make decisions that even ourselves, we don’t understand why we did it.”

“These are all the elements we need to look into, but we have learnt in the last couple of months to deal with the pressure and handle the pressure,” Ertuğrul told the club’s website.

Ajax will go into the game knowing how important it is for them to get maximum points against Bakgaga to leapfrog Matsatsantsa, considering their next game after that will be a rather frightening visit to Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria.

They will welcome 9th placed Baroka at the Athlone Stadium on Tuesday night, kick off at 19h30.
