Preview: SuperSport United Host Free State Stars

PRETORIA: SuperSport United will host Free State Stars in their own backyard in a must win Absa Premiership encounter on Wednesday night.

Matsatsantsa find themselves in a sticky situation where they have to fight relegation.  They currently sit in 15th position, a relegation playoff position with 29 points from 27 games. They have won only six times, drawn 11 and lost a massive 10 games.

Their opponent in the night Free State Stars have had a rather successful season as they currently sit in 5th position with 29 points after the same number of games. They have recorded 10 wins, 9 draws and 8 losses this season.

The Pretoria-based club have been winless in their last 5 games, drawing three times and loosing out twice. Their last league outing resulted in a 0-0 stalemate with Cape Town City. Stars have only won one of their last 5 games and their last result was a 1-1 stalemate with Bloemfontein Celtic.

SuperSport know the importance of getting maximum points if they want to guarantee safety by the end of the season. They dropped to 15th position on Tuesday following Ajax Cape Town’s 1-0 victory over Baroka and will have to beat Ea lla Koto to escape the position.

The two teams will play each other at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Attridgeville Pretoria. The game will kick off at 19h30.
