JOHANNESBURG: The Absa Premiership experienced changed after round 28 of the 2017/2018 season took effect, with some team’s fortunes changing for the better and others for the worst.
More significantly after the round, Platinum Stars’ relegation to the National First Division (NFD) was confirmed after the 2-1 home loss against AmaZulu. Usuthu sneaked into the top 8 following their victory over Cavin Johnson’s former team.
SuperSport United moved out of 15th position to deploy Ajax Cape Town back in the relegation playoff sport after beating fifth placed Free State Stars. On the other hand, Orlando Pirates qualification for the CAF Champions league was conformed after they thrashed Bidvest Wits 4-0.
Mamelodi Sundowns remain four points clear at the summit of the Absa Premiership after their 2-2 away draw to Maritzburg United and are still in pole position to be crowned league Champions with two games to go.
