FREE STATE: The Democratic Alliance (DA) will on Friday visit Polokwane to donate water to the residents of Thakgalang and Blood River in Ward 37 in commemoration of Freedom Day.

It is believed that most residents within Polokwane Municipality, have been without water for over three years.

The DA said the municipal water trucks have since late last year stopped delivering water in the area, forcing residents to use their scarce resources to purchase water from those who have boreholes in their homes.

In commemoration of Freedom Day, the DA said it will donate water to the less privileged families in the city.

“The DA will target child headed families, orphans and underprivileged families who cannot afford to buy water on a daily basis,” said the party in a statement.

Meanwhile, the DA Free State Provincial Leader, Patricia Kopane MP, is expected to mark Freedom Day in Brantford where she will focus on providing quality services for the benefit of all South Africans, creating jobs, stopping corruption.
