JOHANNESBURG: Kaizer Chiefs Multichoice Diski Shield coach Arthur Zwane has revealed his excitement on their advancement to the competition’s final to be played on Saturday.
The Chiefs reserves have been making the headlines across the country for the brand of football they’ve been playing and will face Mamelodi Sundowns reserves in the final in Tembisa. Zwane believes that his troops can win the trophy as they are aware of the importance of winning it.
“For the boys there’s lots of excitement. From the beginning the boys vowed to be in the final. We have spoken to the boys about the importance of winning this trophy. We do not have any doubt about winning the match on Saturday. We have respect for Sundowns. They are one of the best structured development sides in the reserve league.”
“We are equal to the task though, we are going to use the same approach that we have employed in the games we have played so far. We have allowed players to express themselves and I must commend the players for how they have responded positively in all the games, mentally and otherwise. The chemistry in the team is very strong and we are continuing to build them for the future,” said Zwane on the club’s website.
The final will take place at the Makhulong Stadium on Saturday, with kick off set for 15:00. Before that, the battle for third place between Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows will take place at the same venue at 12:00.
