BREAKING: Supra Mahumapelo Resigns As North West Premier


MAHIKENG: Mahumapelo has resigned, the African National Congress (ANC) North West confirmed on Tuesday. 

The ANC in Bokone Bophirima accepts with a sense apprehension – but great pride – the decision by Supra Mahumapelo to voluntarily exit from his deployment as Premier.

Earlier the Republic Mail reported that Mahumapelo is set to resign tomorrow as a premier of North West. In a statement issued by the ANC in the province, the party accept his voluntary decision to step down. 

“We are proud of him for having introduced the Five Concretes to implement the National Development Plan (NDP), which are: Agriculture Culture & Tourism (ACT), Villages, Townships & Small Dorpies (VTSD) economic approach, Reconciliation Healing & Renewal (RHR), Setsokotsane and Saamwerk-Saamtrek Philosophy, ” Suzan Dantjie
Acting Provincial Secretary said. 

“In his 35 years of revolutionary activism in the ANC, he has mastered the art of remaining simple and humble at all times, despite sustained concocted attacks against him by some friends and comrades.

We know that he will continue to serve his movement the ANC in whatever new role we will decide for him. We urge him to remain steadfast in what he believes are the necessary tasks of executing the revolution.

As the ANC in Bokone Bophirima we still believe in Cde Supra’s innocence until he’s proven otherwise and we commend him for putting the interests of the province and its people before his own,” said Dantjie.
