James Keene To Leave Bidvest Wits

JOHANNESBURG: Bidvest Wits striker James Keene has announced that he will leave Bidvest Wits following their 1-0 defeat against Platinum Stars on Saturday.

Having won the Absa Premiership title, MT8 and Telkom Knockout last season, Keene has only made 18 appearances in the 2017/18 season, and only scoring just three goals for the Braamfontein outfit.

Wits failed to defend their title which their won last year, following a rough patch throughout the entire 2017/18 campaign, finishing 12th on the log standings

The Englishman publicised the news on his twitter handle just after the game against Platinum Stars to bid to his teammates and everybody at Bidvest Wits.

“To all my team-mates who have become true friends, who have been like family to me and shown me so much love since the day I arrived in the dressing room, it’s been amazing.

“I’ve had a fantastic time with this group, with so many great memories and trophies, and I’m going to miss so many people at the club.

“I feel blessed to have played for such a great football club. I want to wish everybody at Bidvest Wits all the best for the future, and I’m looking forward to my next challenge!”

It is not clear to whether which team will the 32-year old Keene will join, but according to Sports24 is believed that James has signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United.
