JOHANNESBURG: The former Kaizer Chiefs forward joined Usuthu on a short term deal during their period within the relegation zone in the 2017/18 Absa Premiership season.
Togolese striker Camaldine Abraw will again be looking for employment after AmaZulu team manager Qedi Dlamini revealed that the club have opted against extending the player’s contract.
The former Kaizer Chiefs forward joined Usuthu on a short term deal during their period within the relegation zone in the 2017/18 Absa Premiership season. Dlamini said the club could have extended his stay provided he had scored goals for the team, something he failed to do.
“The club had an option to renew the contract of Abraw but we’ve decided not to exercise the option. We expected goals from him as a striker but that didn’t happen. If he had scored 8 goals, we would have seriously considered renewing his contract. We wish him all the best on his future,” Dlamini said in a statement.
Usuthu have already secured the signing of a striker in the form of New Zealand international Emilliano Tade from Auckland City. They have also secured the signing of veteran goalkeeper Moneeb Josephs from Bidvest Wits.
