JOHANNESBURG: South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns have made their way to Conakry in Guinea to take on Horoya AC in their second 2018 Caf Champions League group stages match.
The host Horoya are 2nd in group C with 3 points after winning their opening group stages game away at Togo Port early in May to put them one point behind leaders Wydad Casablanca who have however played a game more.
The visitors, Mamelodi Sundowns are two points behind Horoya in third place after playing out a 1-1 stalemate with reigning champions Casablanca in their opening group stages match which was played in Pretoria.
Horoya’s last outing was an emphatic 5-0 victory away at Satellite last Wednesday in league duties to give them confidence ahead of their crucial encounter with the Brazilians who were crowned champions in the Caf Champions League in 2016.
Sundowns were also in action last Wednesday in a historic spectacle against European oowerhouse Barcelona FC in a friendly match which they lost out 3-1 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. They will surely go with maximum points in the back of their minds to move higher in the group standings.
The tie will take place at the 25 000 seater Stade du 28 Septembre Stadium in Conakry with kick of scheduled for 18h00 CAT.
