JOHANNESBURG: Billiat was an instrumental figure in Sundowns league campaign, ending the season as champions.
With the 2017/18 season done and dusted, Mamelodi Sundowns’ star attacker Khama Billiat’s future is still uncertain as he continues being used at the Chloorkop club despite his persistent refusal of signing a new contract.
He recently featured for the Brazilians on Tuesday when they played Horoya of Guinea in the Caf Champions League, even serving himself to a goal in the match.
There are reportedly offers for the former Ajax Cape Town star from overseas but nothing has seemed to be materialising with regards to those reports. Locally, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are also rumoured to be angling for a swoop for the Zimbabwean international.
Pitso Mosimane has repeatedly stated that he is desperate to keep the 27-year-old who joined the club back in 2013 and has enjoyed his time with Sundowns by winning league titles and the Caf Champions League.
With Sundowns going into the off season after their Champions League game, Billiat will probably use the time to think hard about his future. If nothing concrete gets offered to him, then he may end up staying after all.
